Update on Book Cover Last Wednesday,
Nov. 3rd, I visited my niece and professional artist, Katrina Hughes Brennan, to see the progress on the book cover/portrait
for The Sign of the Eagle.
Without going into detail, I can say I was truly blown away by the picture's quality,
especially the image of Macha, which is featured prominently. It is near photographic quality from the tone of her face to
the color of her hair to the color depth of her eyes. The picture is nearing completion and Katrina and
I will get together again once the work is completed or enough so that only a final touch up will be required.
Just a reminder, the
trivia page has been updated. The topic this time is about the make-up and hair styles worn by Roman women (even Macha). After
reading it, perhaps you may not think you have had such bad hair or make-up days after all. Some of the stuff used by Roman
woman seems pretty ghastly. Check it out!
Just as an FYI, my short story, Death Most Poisonous, will be featured in the December, 2010
edition of Down in the Dirt, Literary Magazine. Go to the short story page for details and the website from which you can
order the magazine or download it to your Kindle electronic book.
Thanks,
Steve
